Camba 1952-1965: Perebutan Hegemoni DI/TII Dengan TNI

Abstract

This reseacrh is a study of political history that analyzes the role of a region from the geographical aspects as a place of conflict. Procedures in this study using historical methods with stages: Heuristics, Criticism, Interpretation and Historiography. The approach of this research is interdisciplinary (structural) by using the concept of social sciences in support of writing to reveal every event. The results show that the duration of DI/TII in Camba is supported by geographical factors surrounded by mountains and demographic conditions with the majority Muslim population and a strong familial linkage system between the people and DI/TII. Other than that Camba area is a place of seizure of territory between DI/TII and TNI, so that the act of obscenity, sabotage always happens in their feud. However, Camba long before the DI/TII conflict took place had become a land struggle between the warring parties. This caused by the strategic position of Camba region is located in the middle of the transportation lane in South Sulawesi.
