Bajak Laut di Mata Adrian Bernard Lapian (Kajian Sejarah Kawasan Laut Sulawesi Abad XIX)
Abstract
This article discusses the review of Adrian B Lapian's book entitled Orang Laut, Pirate, King of the Sea History of the XIX Century Sulawesi Sea Region. In this case focusing on the phenomenon of pirating, starting from the emergence outside the archipelago. Everyone who studied the issue of shipping in Southeast Asia in the nineteenth century was never out of the pirate problem. Cross-sea travel reports, reports of colonial naval activities, storybooks on voyages, and other types of libraries related to voyages in the nineteenth century, have always alluded to pirate activities. The purpose of this to reveal the role of pirates in history, especially in the Sulawesi Sea region, the cause of pirates, organizational structure, until the pirate victim itself. The method used in making this journal is a qualitative method of literature study, which is obtained from books and other scientific journals discussing the Pirate.
