Abstract

This study aims to find out: (1) Procession of the implementation of the Pamose tradition (2) The view of the community of Topoyo Village towards the Pamose tradition, and (3) Knowing the existence of the Pamose tradition in today's modern era. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews and documentation and processed using qualitative methods. The results showed that: (1) The process of implementing the Pamose tradition consisted of three, namely Magora ', Magane' and Pamose. The Pamose tradition is led by Tobaha '(adat leader) accompanied by Pontai (Adviser for traditional leaders), Pondoulu (Economic Interpreter), Pahombi (Juru Pertanian), Sanro (Dukun), Imam Adat, Pajimo (Drummer) and attended by village people; (2) The community of Topoyo Village, views the Pamose tradition as this custom must be preserved because it is an indigenous custom from Topoyo Village. Pamose in the eyes of the people of Topoyo Village interpreted the machete dance as a form of gratitude for the abundance of fortune and safety and also as a form of gratitude for the safety and protection of the village. (3) The existence of the Pamose tradition is still maintained today, although the implementation is not the same as in the past. Formerly the Pamose tradition was carried out 3 times a year, but now it is only held 1-2 times a year. At present the process of pamose has used modern tools, but the intent and purpose are almost the same. All of Topoyo's native communities clearly understand this tradition, from its history to its processions.
