Relasi Gender Pada Rumah Tangga di Desa Pulau Harapan Kecamatan Pulau Sembilan Kabupaten Sinjai
Abstract
This study aims to determine the form of gender relations in Pulau Harapan Village, Pulau Sembilan District, Sinjai Regency. This study uses a qualitative method, with informants namely community members with the status of fishermen, fishermen's wives, and community leaders. Collecting data using the methods of observation, interviews, and documentation. The data validation technique uses membercheck. The results of the study as well as the conclusions of this study indicate that the role of husband and wife in fishing families is in the form of a senior partner marriage pattern. The form of cooperation between husband and wife in improving the family economy of Pulau Harapan Village is very real, either directly or indirectly. The fishermen's wives in this village have taken part in increasing the family's income. Most of the fishermen's wives in Pulau Harapan Village have side jobs. From their results, the husband's lack of income can be covered. The above activities are a form of participation from the wives of fishermen in Pulau Harapan Village in an effort to improve the welfare of their households.
