Mahar dalam Pernikahan Suku Bugis di Desa Kaliang Kecamatan Duampanua Kabupaten Pinrang
Abstract
This study aims to examine changes in the dowry value of Bugis marriages when they first recognized the dowry with current conditions. Find out and answer. 1) The value of the dowry has shifted or changed 2) The views of the bridegroom, bride and community leaders regarding the dowry in the Bugis marriage. In this study, the researcher used descriptive qualitative research. The informants selected were from among traditional leaders, the people of Kaliang Village who had participated and participated in this activity. The researcher then collected data by conducting observations, interviews and collecting documentation. The results of this study indicate that there is a change in the value of the dowry in this present condition, especially in the Kaliang Village community initially using the old currency system, namely the ringgit, besides that people often use coconut trees or rice fields as dowries. However, when it changes into an object or goods that are considered valuable, such as a steel system or one-stell gold, there are necklaces, earrings, bracelets and rings in it. education that has been carried out or because of a fairly well-established job by the prospective bride. 2) The groom, bride and community leaders consider that dowry is an obligation that must be fulfilled by a man who will be given to a woman to own it. , even in Islamic law requires a dowry in a marriage.
